Lakeside Eagle Marching Band Practicing For Armed Forces Torchlight Parade

April 29, 2009

The Lakeside Eagle Marching Band proudly participates in the Lilac Festival's Armed Forces Torchlight Parade every year. This year the band and parade promise to be bigger and better than ever. The 71st annual parade is scheduled to begin at 7:45 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in downtown Spokane.

In order to practice and prepare to represent our community and high school, the band will be marching outside for two weeks prior to the parade. During the week of May 4, band members will practice on the football field.

The following week the band and cheer squad will practice on the streets of Suncrest in full formation on Monday, May 11; Wednesday, May 13; and Friday, May 15. Practices are 7:30 am – 9 am.

“We have always appreciated the community support for our music programs,” noted Principal Mark St. Clair, “We want the community to be aware that the drums and music can be quite loud. We also want to be sensitive to those with animals in the neighborhood around the high school. Those with animals may want to take extra precautions on those three mornings.”

“We are very proud of our band and director,” continued St. Clair, “They do an outstanding job of representing our community and school district.”
