Deer Park Pumpkin Lane

November 3, 2010

The streets of Deer Park were alive with a massive host of ghouls, goblins, and peppy children last Saturday as local businesses took the day off to participate in the annual Pumpkin Lane.

From one side of downtown to the other, parents, teenagers, and children partook in this “warm up” to Halloween Night. Businesses, on their own dollar, bought copious amounts of candy to hand out to excited kids in this, the most cavity ridden time of the year.

It seemed as though all of Deer Park and the surrounding area emptied into the streets for the two hour event of the “spooky season”. Traffic enforcement was at its peak with a host of crossing guards regulating traffic.

Now that Halloween draws to an end and people everywhere are now getting over the massive sugar rush of the passing weekend, the city of Deer Park fondly looks forward to next year, when the wonderfully scary time of year once again rolls along.
