The Sheriff’s department will be at the Lakeside C.O.P. Shop on Wednesday, March 21st, from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. They can issue Concealed Weapon permits, renew permits, or you may have something you wish to discuss with the Undersheriff.
Weapons permits costs are:
Original permit $55.25
Renewals $32.00 - 90 days before expiration, $42.00 - 90 days after expiration
Replacement $10.00
Bring your original CPL and I.D. Payment can be made by cash, check or money order.
At S.C.C.A.T.’s monthly meeting, it was announced that seven volunteers have reached 100 hours of volunteer work and certificates were presented.
We really appreciate Sheriff Kendall Allen and Undersheriff LaVonne Webb for coming from Colville to present a letter of appreciation to Carol Killman who has volunteered over 500 hours. S.C.C.A.T.’s president presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a thank you gift to Carol.
Thank you to all of you who have volunteered so many hours. Some of the volunteers, wearing their red jackets, were at most of Lakeside High School’s twenty-four games. They worked a total of 308 hours, 45 minutes and drove a total of 438 miles traveling to and from the games.
Our “Number Cruncher” compiled a list of Family Support type calls from the Sheriff’s Report for Stevens County zip code 99026 from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. There were 26 domestic violence calls, four child abuse calls, five molestation calls and one rape.
Our “Local Roving Traffic Monitor” keeps us up to date on traffic happenings on Highway 291. He told us that drivers are crossing the center double line while driving around curves which has resulted in sideswiping oncoming traffic. Drivers may be going too fast around the curves--do you think?
