Thank you to Good Samaritans
Last Wednesday, as I was on my way to get gas in my car, it ran out of gas and broke down just down the road from the Suncrest gas station. As I was trying to find help, a man across the street offered to tow me. I gladly accepted and we hooked up the tow rope and got my car to the gas station. After I put gas in my car, I encountered yet another problem: it wouldn’t start because the battery appeared to be dead. Since my car has a standard transmission, this kind man suggested that we pull my car down the road a bit and try to ‘push start’ it. We tried that, but the result was a broken tow rope (which I am very sorry about). Since the engine didn’t even try to start with that attempt, I decided to check the battery connection. After we jiggled the connection a little bit, my car fired right up. I thanked the man and went on my way.
Wednesday wasn’t the first time that somebody has gone through the hassle to tow me somewhere, or taken time out of their day to help me. To the man who helped me last week, much like the little aliens in Toy Story, I am eternally grateful. To all the people like the man who helped me, who are willing to stop what you’re doing and help somebody in need, THANK YOU. Although your acts of service may sometimes be unrecognized, they are never unappreciated.
