Fire District Holding First Free CPR Class On May 9

Space Is Limited And Registration Is Required

Stevens Fire District #1 will be offering free CPR classes to District 1 residents. The classes are designed to help family and neighbors assist each other until fire personnel arrive on scene. While these are not certified health care provider courses, participants will receive a District-issued CPR card.

The first class is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, at 7:00 pm. This first class will be held at the District Offices in Clayton. Subsequent classes will be held in Tum Tum and Springdale. The initial goal is to hold classes on the second Wednesday of every month and rotate them throughout the Fire District.

These classes are provided free, as the District obtained a grant from the Empire Health Foundation.

Registration for the May 9 class is open and places can be reserved by calling 509-262-9660.

Classes are limited to the first 14 people to sign up. Participants must be at least 14 years of age. Families are encouraged to attend together.

Non-profit groups can also participate, but need to set up their own classes. These can also be arranged by calling the District Office at 509-262-9660.
