Lake Spokane Chamber of Commerce
On April 23, the Lake Spokane Chamber of Commerce elected new officers and Board members. New officers are:
President - Todd Emerson
Vice President 1 - Lea Noble
Vice President 2 - Dana Michie
Treasurer - Rodney Wells
Secretary - Jhamee Oszurko
Board members are: Phil Putnam, Tienne Rogers, Rocky Fortner and Ann Fackenthall. They will serve until 2014. Next year, four additional members will be up for renewal.
The 4th of July Mayor’s Race is under way. If you would like to run or nominate someone, please contact Phil Putnam at LSChamberCommerce@gmail.com. Look for containers at local businesses that will be sporting the photos of candidates. You vote by putting money into the containers (usually tin cans). The money goes to pay for the fireworks at the July 4th Celebration.
The speaker at the meeting was Diane Ogle. She brought information about the revised Tum Tum Community Food Pantry and the Tum Tum Community Clothing Collection Center. Food stuff can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce office at the Outpost. Clothing can be dropped off behind the Lake Spokane Community Church next door to the Tum Tum Community Center, as well as the Chamber office.
The luminaries for this year’s Relay For Life, which will be held June 1-2, are now available. If you can’t find someone who has them, call Jhamee Oszurko at 279-0647. These will be lit and placed around the track at the high school at midnight on the 1st, and the names of all people who have cancer, had cancer or passed away from cancer will be read as people walk silently around the track. Everyone is welcome to participate.
