Springdale Community Health Center Welcomes Janice Linehan ARNP, FNP, ACNP
New Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Specializes In Family Medicine
N.E. Washington Health Programs has announced the appointment of Janice Linehan ARNP, FNP, ACNP to its Springdale Community Health Center. Janice will begin seeing patients on May 14th.
After completing the education and training necessary to become a Registered Nurse, Ms. Linehan pursued graduate level education to become an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). An ARNP holds national certification in an area of specialty which, in Ms. Linehan’s case, is family practice; hence, the FNP designation (Family Nurse Practitioner).
The ARNP’s role and scope of practice in Washington State, where they may practice independently of a physician, is diverse. The core philosophy of the field is individualized care. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners focus on a patient’s condition, as well as the effect of illness on the patient and their families. Prevention, wellness and patient education are priorities.
Ms. Linehan subsequently pursued a post Master’s degree/certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP). The ACNP can legally diagnose and treat medical conditions and is an expert in the assessment, management and care of acutely ill patients with multiple complex problems. Her FNP and ACNP degrees were obtained through Washington State University.
Ms. Linehan’s broad spectrum of experience in both hospital and private practice settings includes family practice, urgent care, university clinical faculty, and asthma/allergy clinical research.
When asked about her appointment, Ms. Linehan stated: “I am very happy to be joining the team at Springdale Community Health Center, where our focus will be on providing outstanding care and service to each patient. My specialty is family medicine for all age groups. I look forward to building my practice, to meeting the Springdale community, and to assisting you with your health care needs.”
When not seeing patients, Ms. Linehan enjoys participating in community events.
