Re-enactment To Be Held At New Location
Riverside State Park No Longer Home For Historical Event
This year’s Memorial Day Weekend “Battle of Spokane Falls” Civil War re-enactment will not be held at Riverside State Park, as it has for the past 13 years. The annual re-enactment battle and living history displays will instead be held at Deep Creek Farms this year.
Period campsites and other demonstrations will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday’s battles are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. On Monday, the camps open to the public at 9:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m., with a special battle at 1:00 p.m. The event will consist of Sutler Camp, Interpretive Presentations, Weapons Demonstrations and Artillery, Cavalry and Infantry Engagements.
The cost of admission to the event is Adults (18+) $10.00, Youth (13 to 17) $5.00, and 12 and Under Free! Active Military and Family $5.00, Good for All 3 Days! Free Parking! Deep Creek Farms is located at 811 N. Deep Creek Rd., Medical Lake, WA.
Directions to Event Site: From East- or West-bound on I-90 take the Hwy 2 Exit toward Airway Heights/Spokane International Airport/Davenport/Fairchild Air Force Base. Continue past Airway Heights & Fairchild Air Force Base (stay in the right lane past the base!) Turn Right on Deep Creek Road, and continue 2 miles to Deep Creek Farms.
The Battle of Deep Creek is sponsored by the Washington Civil War Association and is the successor event to the traditional Battle of Spokane Falls. More info is available at wcwa.net .
