SCCAT/COP Shop/RESOURCE CENTER
The next S.C.C.A.T. meeting will be June 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the library at Lakeside High School. The public is always welcome to attend our meetings.
The Sheriff’s Department will be at Lakeside C.O.P. Shop on June 20th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to issue concealed weapons permits. If you have any issues to discuss with the Undersheriff, please stop by during this time.
Some of us grew up during the time when Memorial Day (Decoration Day) was always on May 30th, which is today. Decoration Day was declared Memorial Day in 1967 by Federal law.
S.C.C.A.T. has volunteers, PAST and PRESENT, who have served in the United States Armed Forces and they are: Bob Georgen, Army, Bill Klein, Navy, Jhamee Oszurko, Air Force, John Pasteur, Army, Leo Richey, Navy, Claude Shook, Navy, Rodney Wells, Air Force, Rocky Fortner, Marines, Harold Bohner, Marines and Alaska National Guard, Jaci Traeger, Air Force, Damon Traeger, Air Force, and Therese Lally, Army. We cannot thank you enough for your service to our country.
MEMBER OF THE MONTH IS: Jaci Traeger. Jaci joined S.C.C.A.T. in 2011 and has volunteered over 100 hours, which is more than some volunteers who joined S.C.C.A.T. five years ago. She retired from the United States Air Force as M/SGT after serving in Germany and Kuwait, and now she has more time to work on her hobbies and attend craft fairs. She volunteers at the C.O.P. Shop, helps Undersheriff Webb with clients who come in for their concealed weapons permits and puts on her red jacket to join the other School Assistance Program volunteers at Lakeside High School games. When we meet for the monthly luncheon, we have to remind Jaci that it is okay for her to be a few minutes late opening the C.O.P. Shop, and we encourage her to stay because she has a great sense of humor. After all, she is a volunteer and we won’t fire her. Jaci, you are an asset to S.C.C.A.T., and all of us really appreciate you for the many hours you volunteer in our community and for your service to our country.
S.C.C.A.T. is always looking for volunteers for the C.O.P. Shop , Neighborhood Observation Program and School Assistance Program.
