Karl Alfred Crotty Jr.
1934 - 2012
Our beloved father Karl Alfred Crotty Jr. passed away Thursday afternoon, May 24, 2012 at his home in Nine Mile Falls. Karl was born in Oyster Bay, New York. He resided in up state New York until 1966 when he moved to Washington State to work for the Boeing Company. He served this country in the Naval Reserve for seven years on vessels stationed on the east coast.
In 1954 he married Ingrid Hansen and together they had four children. Ingrid preceded Karl in death in 2008. Karl is survived by his four children, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Karl worked for the Boeing Company as a machinist for 28 years. After retirement he moved to the Nine Mile Falls area. Karl had a profound love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He volunteered as a Hunter Education Firearm Safety Instructor for 34 years. He taught thousands of our young people how to be safe with firearms. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park, WA.
His memorial service will be held at Driscoll Baptist Church, Spokane on May 31 at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park, WA at 3:00 pm. Memorials to Karl can be made to the American Heart Association, the National Rifle Association or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
