SCCAT/COP Shop/RESOURCE CENTER
The Sheriff’s Department will be at Lakeside C.O.P. Shop on June 20th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to issue concealed weapons permits. Consider the hours spent and the gas consumption it would take to make a trip to Colville for each person who has applied for a permit, if they actually drove to Colville for this service. We really appreciate the Sheriff’s Department providing this service in our area.
Summer Is Just Around The Corner!
Congratulations to all of Lakeside High Schools graduates.
During the summer, young children will be riding their bikes or walking to a friend’s house. All of us must be alert when children are on the streets, as younger children do not always think before darting across a street. We must also remind children to avoid strangers, never get into a stranger’s vehicle, even if the stranger offers the child a large amount of cash to help the stranger hunt for a dog. A child should tell a parent, a trusted neighbor or a friend if a stranger annoys them, follows them or asks them to get into a vehicle.
Protecting Your Children: Advice From Child Molesters.
Who are child molesters? They could be a relative, neighbors or family friends who gain access to your child. They pay attention to the child and make them feel special, appear to be someone the family trusts, know child’s likes and dislikes, buy gifts for the child, isolate the child, take the child on special outings, learn about the child’s music, clothing, video games, language, etc. Molesters are not always caught, since they are skilled at offending. Molesters won’t stop on their own. The molester is good at manipulating children, and the child may protect the molester, as the child may feel guilt, shame, fear or love.
Know who your child’s friends are and be aware of older children or adults who want to be alone with your child. Always Listen To Your Child Because A Child Seldom Lies About Sexual Abuse !!!
