Lots Of Food, Fun And Excitement For The Whole Family

The Lake Spokane Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to the annual 4th of July celebration. As usual, there will be many vendors for visitors to enjoy at the Middle School including those featuring jewelry, wind chimes, cards, tie-dyed shirts, handmade hair accessories, baked goods, arts and crafts, face painting and light up items for after dark. Nu Skin/Pharmanex Antioxidant will be doing screening demos and giving out samples, and Mary Kay Cosmetics will be showcasing their products. No need to go home for dinner, as they’ll be lots of great food and snacks of all kinds, including Kettle Corn and ice cream novelties. The Northwest Renaissance Fair, Stevens County Fire District #1 and many political candidates will also be on hand, plus many other attractions. Booths open at 10:00 a.m. and are open throughout the day.

There will also be many different groups and individual entertainers on the stage during the day. If you are interested in participating in this year’s entertainment, please call Todd at 710-3200 or Phil at 276-6349 to sign up. If you happen to come early, be sure to return for what has been called “The Best 4th of July Fireworks I’ve Ever Seen,” which will commence around dusk. Come early and bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to claim your seats!

The Lake Spokane Food Pantry has teamed up with Farrell’s Restaurant this year for a special promotion at the event. Bring two cans of any kind of protein (i.e. tuna, peanut butter, chicken, etc.) to the Food Pantry booth, and you will be rewarded with a $2.00 off coupon good at Farrell’s Bar & Grill.

Thanks to the folks at the Wagon Wheel, Molly’s Restaurant in Spokane and the Suncrest Supermarket, there will be a free pancake breakfast held at Lakeside Middle School from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a fishing contest all day on the 4th. Call Todd Emerson at 710-3200 for early registration or bring your fish to the Emerson Surveying booth for weigh-in at the event.

The Williams Valley Grange will be holding their annual Brownie Blast. Bring your entry to the Grange booth by 12:00 p.m. All types of brownies are encouraged. Be as creative as you want.

The 9th annual Show and Shine car show, sponsored by Suncrest Auto Parts, will start at 9:00 a.m., and the awards will be given out at 3:00 p.m. Be sure to spend some time looking at these beautiful machines, many of which have been restored to their glory. Cast your vote for the “Best in Show” and many other awards. This event will also be held at Lakeside Middle School in the parking lot. For more information regarding this part of the event, please call Jeff at Suncrest Auto Parts at 467-4177.

New to this year’s festivities is the Motorcycle Show and Ride. This event will be held at the Suncrest Pizza Factory parking lot at the Suncrest Outpost. There will also be a “Miss Lake Spokane Biker Doll” competition and a pizza and beer garden available with ID. Several prizes will be available including Best in Show, Best Paint, Best Chrome, Oldest 2 Wheel Ride and Ugliest Bike categories. This party starts at 10:00 a.m. and is $15 for singles and $25 for couples. Check in at the door of the Pizza Factory.
