Firefighters for Mark Beck
Mark came to our department with 33+ years as a public servant in the fire service and a number of years serving non-profit and charitable organizations in his free time. Mark brought a wealth of leadership knowledge to our Fire District, including experience developing budgets, long range strategic planning and a genuine concern for the employees and citizens he serves. In three short years he brought our Fire District out of a period of economic uncertainty and provided a solid, conservative, and responsible budget as a foundation for the Fire District to move forward. Mark took the time to instill a sense of pride and professionalism in the people who worked for him. I worked side by side with him for three years and on many incidents, and he is one of the hardest workers I know. In 2009, I personally recommended him for Fire Chief of the Year for the State of Washington; when he won, I was proud to stand in front of Fire Chiefs from all over the State and tell them what I am telling you today.
Mark took the time to travel the Fire District, learn about the area, and meet the citizens. He continues to be involved in the community today as a volunteer firefighter, a volunteer at the local food bank, and at the Union Gospel Mission. He is the first person to step up and help out when something is needed.
He truly listens to his employees and the citizens and can be counted on to be fair, and to do what’s right, even if it isn’t popular. He does not provide lip service. He is open and honest and will never just tell people what they want to hear to make them happy. To Mark, being a county commissioner is not about the position or the prestige, it truly is about serving others; it’s about making a difference in the community in which he resides.
I can tell you that the vast majority of the volunteer firefighters in Fire District #1 and all of the paid firefighters support Mark Beck for County Commissioner. If you want the candidate who exemplifies responsibility, honesty and integrity then please vote for Mark Beck.
