My Vote Is For Wes McCart
Thanks to Adam Pope, Tum Tum 4 PCO, for a well-organized and informational Candidate’s Forum. The following are some of my observations of the issues.
The District 1 County Commissioner represents the entire District, not provincial segments of the district; in addition the commissioner must work with the other two commissioners and see the “big picture” of our very diverse Stevens County. Through participation in a variety of committees and organizations Wes McCart has built a grassroots network with which to address the issues facing our county, from unemployment to creating an equitable Tax base to fund the county.
A working relationship and understanding of state issues and how they affect our county is also needed. Wes advocates for open meetings and emphasizes the value of advice from many sources; he has shown a willingness to listen by attending many meetings and events to understand voter concerns.
McCart is the best candidate to fulfill the requirements; he has a background in private business and agriculture. He has contributed his time and money to a variety of issues including the Farm Bureau, shoreline and watershed management. Additionally he has worked with the Special Olympics as a volunteer.
Recognizing that all three candidates have strong management and budgetary experience, Mr. McCart stands out as a community member working for our spot on the planet, in the state and county on his own time. He has the ability and experience to be a strong commissioner. My vote is for Wes McCart.
Sincerely,
