Thank You For Your Support

I would like to personally thank those who supported the Fire District #1 Emergency Medical Services Levy. While the votes will not be certified until August 21, we are sitting well above the required 50% plus 1 requirement and the outcome looks great.

The EMS levy accounts for 20% of our budget and is critical to moving the District forward. While many of you may think we are ok where we are at, there is still a lot of work to be done and this will take many years to accomplish. This is not a reflection on the past, but the nature of the fire service in general.

Since arriving here a little over two years ago, I have helped support improving upon what previous administrations accomplished. Our biggest goals are linked to serving you—the citizen and taxpayer—better. Being there for you in your time of need is our top priority and the EMS levy helps us do that. There are many more goals to consider, but your health and safety come first.

The best part about the EMS levy passing is that you see that you not only need for our services to continue, but what those services mean to the entire District. That is a direct reflection on our personnel—from the volunteers to the paid staff, and from the office staff to our mechanic. They do the work—most of it you may never see directly. The dedication these fine individuals offer their communities is the best, and, remember, we are always looking for more dedicated personnel to serve their community.

Thank you again for your support!

Mike Bucy

Fire Chief
